About the Host

At 26 years old, Charles Epting was not around to experience the punk and new wave movements firsthand. However, a degree in history and a (sometimes obsessive) attention to detail have led him to dig deeper than most people his age into the music of the 1970s and 80s. Early exposure to the New York Dolls and the Ramones sparked a fascination with the 1970s NYC punk scene that continues to this day. Throughout college Epting was a concert photographer (primarily for AOL’s Noisecreep and Loudwire), and was fortunate enough to shoot artists such as Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, Iggy Pop, the Eagles, and Jackson Browne. Today, a postage stamp auctioneer by trade, he can most often be found at night or on weekends digging through vinyl in Greenwich Village or Brooklyn. It is his hope that the Lost Labels Podcast can be his contribution to the scene that has impacted his life so greatly.
